The story behind Integrity Toys’ Fashion Royalty line

Integrity Toys is one of the companies on the market today that produces a wide selection of fashionable dolls. The available collections are reminiscent of high fashion, Hollywood glamor of the golden age and other high fashion themes of the modern age. The dolls are mostly jointed and each has their own exquisite wardrobe range. Integrity Toys then hired Jason Wu as a freelance doll clothing designer when he was still sixteen. Jason Wu later created Integrity Toy’s doll collection called Fashion Royalty and was later appointed Creative Director of Integrity Toys a year later.

The storyline behind the Fashion Royalty line revolves around the competition between two major cosmetic companies fighting for market share in the European market and ultimately for global dominance. Their world had then become increasingly challenging with the entry of a third large company ready to complicate the competition. Thus, the collectors of the Fashion Royalty line will be presented to the companies “W” (owned by Veronique Perrin), “V” (formed by Baroness Agnes Von Weiss) and Missima Cosmetics (led by Natalie Fatale).

For doll collectors interested in fashion and creative design, Fashion Royalty characters will inspire you. Famous characters of this line are Veronique Perrin, Vanessa Perrin, Adele Makeda, Isha, Luchia Z., Baroness Agnes Von Weiss, Kyori Sato, Natalia Fatale, Eugenia Perrin Frost, Darius Reid, Pierre DeVries and Francisco Leon. Jason Wu’s Fashion Royalty collection was first presented at the International Toy Fair in February 2001 in New York City. Every year there is an exciting new look for almost every character with new wardrobes online. An accessory that should be part of any collector’s lineup is the story card portfolio that only produced 1000.

In 2009, the Future Perfect Collection was introduced with an exciting new feature. The doll bodies are equipped with a “speaker system” where the hands can be removed to facilitate changing the cabinet. They also came with additional hands that are posed to hold with the accessories. In 2010, Integrity Toys launched the Foundation Dazzle Collection which showcased high fashion and 1960s fashion for W Cosmetics’ new fashion advertising campaign. The sophisticated look of this collection reminds collectors of the original inspiration for these dolls which is Gene Marshall.

Collectors of Jason Wu’s Fashion Royalty dolls will never stop getting excited as new lines and repaintings are introduced each year. Each year, there is also a limited edition doll set of 180 figures for up to a thousand figures produced for a single character or design. Therefore, collectors of the series will certainly appreciate the exclusivity and rarity of some doll models after perhaps a decade or so.
